Listen to locked-in patients before withdrawing life support

A diagnosis of “persistent vegetative state” is a rationale often used to withdraw life support, but a new study suggests some such patients are actually aware but “locked-in” – a finding that could reignite the delicate, but emotionally charged debate about end-of-life decisions. Read more here.
