Join us for a fascinating conversation with Lindsay Cameron, PhD, BrainStorm Neuroscience Pitch Competition™ 2023 awardee, sharing her Mind Science-funded research conducted in the Malenka and Deisseroth Labs at Stanford, where Dr. Cameron is a Postdoctoral Scholar.

Dr. Cameron explores the potential of psychedelics for treating neuropsychiatric disorders like depression, anxiety, PTSD and addiction. She has spent the last 8 years studying how psychedelics heal the brain, and rewire the way we think. Dr. Cameron spent her PhD developing novel compounds for treating mental illness, and sought to understand if hallucinations were necessary for the therapeutic action of psychedelics, or if the sensory experience could be decoupled from the therapeutic effects. Now, Dr. Cameron is at Stanford exploring how these fascinating drugs can be used to treat substance use disorder.

Lindsay Cameron, PhD

Dr. Lindsay Cameron is a postdoctoral scholar in the Malenka & Deisseroth labs at Stanford University studying psychedelics for treating neuropsychiatric disorders. She completed her PhD in the Olson Lab (UC Davis) studying the effects of psychedelics and novel analogs for treating neuropsychiatric disorders like depression, anxiety, PTSD and addiction. Lindsay’s expertise spans chemical synthesis to molecular biology and now circuit-level neuroscience of psychedelic action. Lindsay is heavily involved in diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice initiatives, working hard to increase accessibility and equality in science and academia.
