Mind Science is thrilled to partner with TPR for our Think Mind Science event on Thursday, April 30th. Join us in an enlightening discussion about the gut-brain axis and how it influences sleep and space medicine. Devjoy Dev, PhD joins Ben Rein, PhD, the Mind Science Foundation’s Chief Science Officer, in a conversation about the connection between sleep and the gut, and how the gut can be neuromodulated to affect sleep circuitry. General admission tickets are $15 and an upgraded ticket for $50 provides access to the Meet & Greet Reception with the panelists. All proceeds benefit the Mind Science Foundation and TPR. Devjoy Dev, PhD I recently received my PhD in Biomedical Engineering from NYU at the Ramadi Lab of Advanced Neuroengineering and Translational Medicine. My background spans sleep biology, medical device design, biomedical imaging, gastroenterology, and space health. I’m interested in investigating how neuromodulation can regulate sleep circuitry via the Gut-Brain Axis. I’m also exploring the impactful effects of microgravity on our circadian rhythm. I am an advocate for UK-US science policy collaboration and research communication, driven by topics such as gender inequality and healthcare. Previously, I was a Research Scholar at Harvard Medical School, and I later graduated with my Master’s degree from Imperial College London, UK. Outside the lab, I’m a keen rower, reader, and hackathon participant, having previously won the Harvard iGEM BioHackathon and the MIT Grand Hack on multiple occasions. I’m a former Stage Magician, where I performed magic for over 10 years to audiences as large as 300 across the UK and India. Currently, I’m a member of the Space Surgery Association, AsMA, the New York Academy of Science, OSMED, and The Explorers Club. |
